Nurturing "Seedlings"
We view newly transformed tree boxes and those who adopt them as "seedlings" and continue to help them grow through continuing encouragement, advice and if necessary, supplies until they are self-sufficient. We put as much effort into the people as we do the plants because we hope the new lone rangers, block captains and neighborhood platoons not only maintain the areas we gardened, but expand adjacent public spaces. At some point we will establish affiliate Guerrilla Gardeners groups in other parts of the city.
